The Boston Pops orchestra launched a two-night musical tribute on May 20, 2026, at Symphony Hall in Boston to celebrate the legendary cinematic scores and seven-decade legacy of composer John Williams.
Conducted by Keith Lockhart, the event titled "Film Night: Williams on Williams" integrates performances of iconic themes with exclusive video commentary from the 94-year-old composer detailing his creative process.

The performance runs for approximately two hours and includes a violin solo by Alexander Velinzon during the Korngold concerto performance.
Williams maintains a historic relationship with the ensemble, having served as the 19th music director of the Boston Pops from 1980 to 1993 before transitioning into his current role as Laureate Conductor.
